Zenichi and Yoshiko Imamoto in front of the home in Rock Creek Park across from Peirce Mill, where they worked as domestics, ca. 1950. The couple resettled in D.C. after they were forcibly removed from their Southern California home and incarcerated in camps run by the U.S. government during World War II. Three decades later, the couple were among over 80,000 surviving people who received an apology and reparations from the government for their unjust incarceration.
